We take no bookings and no payments

We will never ask you for a payment, a card number or an ID. CalcMyTrip is not a travel agency and holds no inventory. If any page appears to ask you for booking or payment details, it is not us — close it and book on IRCTC or with the operator directly.

The expense splitter, specifically

The splitter asks for people's names and what each of them paid. That feels personal, so it is worth being precise about what happens to it.

Nothing you type there reaches our server as stored data. The names and amounts travel in the page address, the calculation runs, and the result is returned. We keep no record of who owes whom.

But because it lives in the address, a link you share carries the names and amounts. That is how you send a settlement to your group — and it also means you should not post that link anywhere public.

If you would rather not type real names, initials work exactly as well.

The other calculators

Same principle. Your route, group size, dates and budget are in the address and are never written to our database. Close the tab and no record exists.

What our server logs

Standard request information: page requested, time, browser type, truncated IP. Kept to run the site and spot abuse, not to profile anyone.

Advertising

Advertising is not currently enabled. When it is, this section will name the partner and explain how to opt out.

What we do not do

  • No booking, no payments, no card details, ever.
  • No affiliate links and no booking commission, so your travel plans have no resale value to us.
  • No accounts, so no passwords to lose.
  • No social trackers or comment widgets.

Sites we link to

We link to IRCTC, NHAI, Indian Railways and other official sites. Those are separate organisations with their own privacy policies. We have no access to your account or booking on any of them.

If you write to us

Mail to contact@calcmytrip.com is kept only as long as needed to reply and to correct whatever you reported. Tell us a hotel benchmark is wrong for a town you know and we will use the figure without naming you.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act you may ask what personal data we hold, have it corrected, or have it deleted. We hold very little, but the request stands.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
